4 injured when car flips during pursuit on Wrightsboro Road

GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A car flipped on Wrightsboro Road near the Deer Hollow subdivision during a Georgia State Patrol pursuit.

The Georgia State Patrol and Columbia County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene.

It happened after the patrol was requested to assist in Warren County with the pursuit of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle exited Interstate 20 at Appling-Harlem Road and began traveling recklessly on the wrong side of the road, authorities reported.

As the vehicle fled on Wrightsboro Road, the patrol performed a “PIT maneuver” to stop the vehicle. The vehicle then crashed and flipped onto its side.
