Police Pursuit Leaves Officers Injured, Shuts Down Part of FDR Drive

A wild chase and shooting on the FDR Drive in Manhattan left two officers hospitalized and part of the roadway shut down as police searched for the suspect.

Officers were investigating a report of gunshots fired on East 96th Street and Second Avenue Thursday night and tried to pull over a vehicle matching the suspect’s description on the FDR Drive at East 15th Street, police sources said.

The driver backed up and hit the officers’ patrol car, then took off, sparking a police pursuit, the sources said.
